Ergo Proxy - Episode 01

I have taken a break from my usual routine of slice-of-life, romance, and comedy animes and decided to browse around for other titles. I came across a lot and have added a few new ones to my list of "must see" animes. Ergo Proxy wasn't on my list but I did stumble across this title a few months back and so, I finally decided to watch the first episode. Here are some screen caps.

As I would normally put up a summary of some sort, I dare to skip that part for this episode since the plot is still unclear to me. Very few information is revealed in this episode and there are a lot of questions I have to ask.

I was rather "awed" by the quality of the animation. The characters are drawn really well and I love how seemingly realistic the world is depicted in the anime, even though ofcourse it is fictional. The anime has a "dark" feel to it and the approach is rather obvious since most of the scenes are.. well.. viewed in the dark? lol?

There's just so much to ask and yet seems so little to know about the anime that I can't help but ponder on how the anime will progress. Nonetheless, it is a change for me the fact that I rarely watch these kinds of genres. I found Ergo Proxy to be interesting though, and I may well continue watching this anime as well.

Kimikiss Pure Rouge - Episode 16

Oh my god, finally! Episode 16 of Kimikiss is finally out! I know, it's kind of odd to start my entry for this anime on episode 16 but I just don't feel like re-watching the first few episodes again.. atleast, not right now for that matter. I will eventually post up entries on the previous episodes but for now, I will stick to episode 16 and onwards with regards to this anime.

So, here are some screen caps for episode 16.

Mao awaits Eiji after his performance, but she is still distracted from seeing Kouichi and Yumi kiss at the train station. Eiji finally approaches Mao and notices that she seems somewhat troubled. Eiji's band mates call for him to help pack up the instruments. He apologizes to Mao for not being able to accompany her home.

At home, Kouchi reminisces his moments with Yumi for that day. Mao arrives home and Kouchi greets her and starts to share his happiness to Mao. Mao insists that she be left alone since she is tired, Kouchi notices that she seems troubled.

Filming resumes the following day for Kouchi and his fellow Movie crew. Kouchi and Mao successfully finish one of the scenes. They move onto the next scene when Kouchi notices Mao acting strange, Mao screws up scene. After a couple of retakes, Kazuki trips on the equipments and they call it for the day. Yumi suggest that the group take a break at a nearby cafe.

Following day, Kazuki is anxiously waiting for a phone call from Eriko while waiting for Asuka. Asuka shows up for their soccer practice, she notices that Kazuki hasn't been concentrating on their practice and has been eying his phone a lot. She later asks him if it's Eriko he's been waiting for. Kazuki agrees and asks ASuka if Eriko is mad at her. Asuka asks if Kazuki did anything to make Eriko mad at him. He then mentions about the experiments. Kazuki tries to resume practice with Asuka but she tells him that her foot still hasn't fully recovered yet and decides to call off their practice.

On Asuka's way home, she encounters Eriko who was heading for the library. She asks Eriko if she could talk to her about Kazuki and the experiments he had mentioned earlier. Eriko tells her that she had kissed Kazuki and was part of her experiments. Asuka furiously wonders how Eriko can play with someone’s feelings so easily, calling her the worst. Eriko actually agrees, before simply walking away from Asuka.

In her room, Mao is still thinking about Kouichi. Kouichi thinks about Mao while exiting the movie theater with Yumi as well. Yumi notices this, but she allows him to go when Kouichi expresses Mao’s actions at home. Mao sees Eiji in his workplace, and asks him to kiss her after falling into his arms. Eriko finally calls Kazuki, but she surprises him by telling him that they will be ending their experiment.

Thoughts:

Alot of has drama been built up to this point in the anime and we are still left with many questions. I am ofcourse a MaoxKouchi supporter. Just when you think Kouchi has finally settled down for Yumi, he suddenly gets troubled when he notices Mao acting weird and then the whole MaoxKouchixYumi triangle opens up again. As for Kazuki's harem, they seemed to have put an end to Eriko for that matter, simply from the last scene of the episode were she calls off her experiments with Kazuki. However, I do think they won't completely take her out since she did kiss Kazuki first. I do like Eriko, especially from episode 1. I was quite taken away by that last scene between Kazuki and Eriko from episode 1. But with Asuka's recent entry into Kazuki's triangle, I am actually liking her now. I'm still unsettled! I must see the next episode!

Kodomo no Jikan - Episode 03

Moving onto Episode 03. Here are some screen caps.

I will skip this synopsis for this post since the episode I saw was the censored version, so most of the "fun" parts were taken away, much to my disappointment. I will repost and update this perhaps, when I am able to acquire the uncensored version of this episode.

Thoughts:

Unfortunately for me, I came across the censored version of this episode. Much of the dialogue was understandable, but ofcourse, without any visual aid, I was rather put off especially for the supposedly "humor" scenes.

Anyways, this whole episode was mainly about the girls in Aoki's class (Rin, Kuro, and Mimi in particular) and how they were coping up with their growth into early womanhood. Yes, it was all about boobs, bras, and all that.

One thing that I found intriguing was the fact that Mimi seemed to have had developed breasts for someone her age and stature. I'm not overly thinking this through, but when you think about it.. 3rd graders with well rounded melons?

Ofcourse the episode isn't complete without a share of Aoki's point of view on the matter, plus he does play a role in the girls growth since he is ofcourse their homeroom teacher. Aoki's colleague, Oyajima mentions "The road that a mid-level grade school teacher walks is a beastly road" by this, I believe he is referring to Aoki's carnal desire. He is after all, surrounded by (very) young and cute girls. Although it isn't safe to assume (and is highly questionable???) yet if Aoki does harbor any feelings for the Rin at this point, he does contemplate from time to time which leads him to think of the most lascivious moments with Rin.

There was much to question about this episode (or maybe it's just me..), plus I got held back by the censorship so I really wasn't able to catch most of the inset humor. I did, however, still enjoy this episode and will be looking forward to seeing the next.

Others:

Kuro was really cute in this episode, and I was rather amused with the scene in her room were she kept rolling on her bed thinking of Rin.
